Terms of Use
1. Agreeing to these terms
BLNC is run by Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud Ahmed, Cairo, Egypt ("we"). By using the BLNC app or blnclife.com you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use BLNC.
You must be 18 or older to use BLNC.
2. What BLNC is, and what it is not
BLNC is a planning tool: it helps you split your money, track spending and habits, plan things to do and keep your life in balance.
BLNC is not financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or religious advice. Its numbers, such as daily money, goal dates, buy-or-rent results, interest rates and prices, are estimates based on what you enter and on information that can change. Decisions about your money and your life are yours. When a decision matters, check with a qualified professional.
3. Your phone and your cloud backup
Your BLNC data is stored on your phone. If you create a cloud backup account, your backup is encrypted with your password before it leaves your phone.
- Keep your password and your recovery code safe. We cannot reset or recover your backup without one of them. That is the price of nobody else being able to read it.
- You are responsible for the email address you give us being yours.
- If you think someone else knows your password, sign out of all phones from the app and set a new password with your recovery code.
4. What you post
You can suggest places, write reviews, add photos and create or join challenges ("your content").
- You keep ownership of your content.
- You give us a free, worldwide licence to store, show, translate and lightly edit it (for example, fixing spelling or format) inside BLNC and on blnclife.com, for as long as it is published.
- You confirm that your content is true to your own experience, that you have the right to share any photo, and that people who can be recognised in a photo agreed to it.
- Your content must follow the Community Rules. We review suggestions, written reviews and photos before they appear, and we may refuse, edit or remove content at any time.
5. Community safety
You can report any review, place, challenge or person from inside the app. Content reported by several people may be hidden until we review it. We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks the Community Rules, especially more than once.
6. Places, events and prices
Information about places and events comes from public sources and from the community. Opening hours, prices, availability and safety can change. Check before you go, and take care of your own safety. We are not responsible for places, events or businesses shown in BLNC.
7. Partner offers
Some offers come from partners such as cafés, gyms or activities. They are always marked as a partner offer. We check offers before they appear, but the partner, not us, is responsible for honouring an offer and for its goods and services. Partners never receive your personal information from us.
8. Using BLNC fairly
Please do not:
- try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of BLNC or its server;
- access other people's accounts or data;
- use BLNC for anything illegal, or to harm, mislead or spam others;
- copy BLNC's name, logo, design or content for your own product.
9. Availability and changes
BLNC is free to use. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We will try to tell you in the app before a change that affects you.
10. Limits of our responsibility
BLNC is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by relying on BLNC's estimates, by information from places, events or partners, by losing your password and recovery code, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Ending
You can stop using BLNC and delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Cairo are competent for any dispute.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies. Continuing to use BLNC after that means you accept the new terms.
