Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated 21 October 2026

The short version. Your money, habits and plans stay on your phone. If you turn on cloud backup, it is locked with your password before it leaves your phone, so we cannot read it. We do not sell data, we do not use advertising trackers, and partner offers are matched on your phone, not on our server.

1. Who we are

BLNC (in Arabic, بالانس) is an app and website at blnclife.com, run by Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud Ahmed, Cairo, Egypt ("we"). We decide how the information described here is used, so under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020) we are its controller.

Questions about privacy: support@blnclife.com.

2. What stays on your phone only

Everything you plan in BLNC is saved on your phone and is never sent to us unless you turn on cloud backup (section 3). This includes:

You can remove all of it at any time by deleting the app or its data from your phone.

3. What reaches our server, and only when you use the feature

Feature What we keep Why How long
Cloud backup (optional) Your email address; a scrambled check of your password that cannot be turned back into it; your locked backup keys; your backup, encrypted on your phone (the latest one and one older copy at least 12 hours old) To restore your BLNC on a new or reset phone Until you delete your account
Signed-in phones A scrambled sign-in code for each phone To keep you signed in Until you sign out, or 400 days without use
Reminders while the app is closed (optional) The push address your phone's browser gives us, a random device code in scrambled form, and the times of your reminders. Never the reminder text To wake the app at the right time Until you turn reminders off, or 60 days without an update
Suggest a place (optional) What you write about the place, an optional photo, and the display name you choose To review it and show it in Explore Until you delete it or your account. A published place stays as public information, without your name
Reviews (optional) Your stars, text, tip, optional photo and display name, linked to a random code on your phone To show reviews in Explore Until you delete them or your account
Friend challenges (optional) The challenge title, goal and dates, the display name you choose and your progress count To show the challenge to the friends you invite Until you leave the challenge
Reports What you reported, the reason and an optional note To keep BLNC safe While the report is open and up to 12 months after
Usage counts (on by default, can be turned off in You) Daily totals, such as "120 setups finished today", by app version and language. No device code, address or cookie To know what helps and what breaks Kept as totals
Error reports What went wrong, the app version and the screen. Emails and long numbers are removed before saving To fix bugs 90 days
Protection from abuse A one-way scrambled form of your internet address To limit spam and attacks 24 hours for sign-in and request limits; kept with a post or report you make

Photos you share are saved again on our server as a new image, which removes hidden details such as the location where the photo was taken.

4. Sensitive information

Egyptian law treats financial, health and religious information, and children's data, as sensitive. In BLNC this kind of information stays on your phone. If you turn on cloud backup, it travels only inside your encrypted backup, which we cannot open. We ask for your clear agreement before you turn on backup.

5. What we never do

6. Services we rely on

Service What it does What it receives
Hostinger Hosts blnclife.com, the app and our server, in the United Kingdom, and delivers the pages through its content network Everything in section 3, as stored, and your internet address when a page loads
Your phone's push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft) Delivers the empty wake-up signal for reminders Your push address and the moment of the signal, with no content
Google Fonts Provides optional fonts you pick in You Your internet address when a font is downloaded
Wikimedia and other public sites Some Explore photos load from them Your internet address when a photo is shown
Links you choose to open (Google Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Google Calendar) Open outside BLNC Whatever you share there, under their own policies

7. Information stored outside Egypt

Our server is in the United Kingdom. When you use a feature in section 3, that information is stored there. We rely on your agreement and on the need to provide the feature you asked for, and we protect it as described in section 10.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to its use, or withdraw your agreement at any time. Write to support@blnclife.com from the email address of your account. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center.

9. Deleting your information

10. How we protect it

Your backup is encrypted on your phone with AES-256 using a key made from your password (PBKDF2 with 210,000 rounds); the key never reaches us. Passwords are checked with bcrypt, sign-in codes are stored scrambled, every connection uses HTTPS, and requests are limited to stop guessing and spam. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell the Personal Data Protection Center within 72 hours and tell you within 3 working days after that.

11. Age

BLNC is for people aged 18 and over.

12. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
